Abstract:
We will describe a simple model (but rich enough and quite representative) of partially hyperbolic dynamics: the porcupine-like horseshoes. This model can be accurately described using one-dimensional dynamics (technically an iterated function system defined (IFS) on the interval)
and it exhibits many interesting properties, from both ergodic and topological viewpoints.
