Shell models, turbulence and optimal control
|
In this seminar, we will present the shell models as a mathematical tool that helps to understand in a easy way the energy (enstrophy) cascades in three (two) dimensional forced turbulence. It will also be presented the formulation of an optimal control problem which aims to characterize the forcing term in order to control these cascades.
