In this talk we shall discuss the climate change problem due to anthropogenic causes in context of a physical model, the Landau-Ginsburg theory of phase transition, and the ensued Earth System trajectories in the phase space, the space of the temperature field and its rate of change.
We shall see that this description allows for building up a Planetary Accounting Framework, a novel, quota-based approach to understanding the impacts of the human activity with respect to the period of great climate stability, the Holocene. We shall also discuss the idea of a planetary condominium, the Common Home of Humanity. |
