The history of the problem of clocks synchronization is reviewed
especially in connection with the foundations of relativity theory. A
new method for attaining a network type synchronization which does not
privilege any clock or space point and which works even in rotating
frames is presented. The possible interest for canonical quantization
schemes is briefly mentioned.
