The objective of this work is to investigate several algorithmic properties of pseudovarieties, studying connections between them and exploring their applications to decidability. With the goal of better understand the important pseudovariety of aperiodic semigroups, some simpler pseudovarieties, such as LSl and DA, will receive special attention.
