The Numerical Analysis and Computational Mathematics research group has 6 members with a Ph.D. degree and one member in an advanced stage of development of his Ph.D. thesis.

The members of this group accomplish, in collaboration with researchers of other research units, national and international units, activities of research in different areas (Numerical Linear Algebra, Parallel Algorithms, Wavelets, Numerical Solution of Differential Equations).

In the context of the organization of CMAT, some members of this group are part of the Comapp project which is financed by FCT through the multi-annual financial support program.

Adding to these research activities, the members of the Numerical Analysis and Computational Mathematics group also organize seminars, short courses and scientific meetings.

Some members have been responsible for supervising several Master students and some Ph.D. students (presently they supervise 2 Master thesis and 2 Ph.D. thesis).
